Classroom Management & Teacher Talk
The Positive Comments: that the can control the students by the class dojo point and their behaviour come good and they cannot do anything without asking the teacher. Also if whole class get 5000 points in the class dojo the teacher will give them the reward.
The Negative Comments: Most of the time the students need more than 10 mins to finish the task some of them they did not finish quickly so the teacher she doesn't ask them to complete it at home to practice more.
The Punishment: The teacher let the child stand up outside the class 10 min with sand glass or take some points from the class dojo. My mentor teacher uses the second one " take some points from class dojo". This the easier way to control the students because the point it is very important to students. Starting the day: She call their name to take the attends and ask who need food order food.
Lining up - location: she let them stand up by ABC order. Teacher instructions for lining up: the first step teacher asked the students to push the chair under the table and the second step the teacher asked students to get in one line by name list name or number.
Ending the day: teacher asked the students to have a clear and clean class after that the car students to go down but the bus students stay at the class in one line so she can take them together to bus.
Moving the children at the start of an activity: Teacher asked the children to sing and dance every day at the beginning of the class to get more power and to move their gross motor Muscles. Moving the children at the end of an activity: after the song, the teacher asked them to go back to their seat.
How do the children respond: The children go direct to the groups and stay quit to get class dojo point "Working Hard".
Misbehaviour: one of the students start making noise in the classroom so the teacher will take him to sit alone near the door until he/she get quiet. The child will become more quite and he/she will that is wrong and the students will understand the wrong this so they will not do it again.
Reflection 7
Every activity the teacher put timer such as 10 min. or 5min. or more the children start the activity before time finished the teacher stay near the computer and remained the students about the time and the students try to finish their activity when the time over the teacher open a song about one minute and a half that main they must clean their groups to get the point so the students start cleaning and retrain the things and sit quite to get the point for groups or the whole class.
I think the good strategies to control the students with class dojo, the students would like to have more point so they can change their colour belt in the class dojo and that is the good strategies that we use it we I was in TP with my mentor teacher. When the teacher asked the children to be quite after break time and of course they have full energy so she can only click the random name in class dojo so the students in this moment they know that is the time to get a point by random everyone go to their set and waiting which one will get the points.
The teacher would like to use the class dojo all time if the students were quite she will give all the whole class points but if they were not quite she will take points from all the whole class. Also when they will get in one line boys and girls or by list name she can control they also by showing them the list of the class dojo. Are there any children in the class with difficult or unusual behaviour? Of course, have 3 or 2 students that are hard to control.
